The Shoggoth

The shoggoth could be thought of as the "alien mind" that processes information in a wildly different way than humans. The picture above represents how instruct-tuning (and RLHF) have effectively "put a mask" on the alien intelligence, in turn showing us ~exactly what we want to see.
